PROGRAMS FOR VISITORS WITH DISABILITIES

For Visitors Who Are Deaf

Gallery talks are presented in Sign Language or are Sign Language interpreted on a regular basis. Search the calendar for upcoming programs with Sign Language interpretation. These programs are free with Museum admission. Gallery talks meet in the Great Hall and usually last about an hour. We regret that these gallery talks cannot accommodate groups. Some family programs are also presented in ASL.

Some special Sign Language–interpreted events and events in ASL are listed only in the Signs of Art brochure. The brochure is available at the Information Desks or by mail. Please call 212-879-5500, ext. 3561 (TTY: 212-570-3828), or email access@metmuseum.org to be added to the mailing list. You may also download the brochure (PDF).

Audio Guide

Transcripts in standard and large print are available for all Audio Guide programming and are free to visitors who are Deaf.

Real-Time Captioning

Real-time captioning for lectures can be provided upon request. Requests for this service can be made up to three weeks before the date of the lecture, however, this accommodation is contingent upon the availability of captioners. Search the calendar for upcoming lectures. To request real-time captioning, contact the Access Coordination office at 212-879-5500, ext. 3561 (TTY: 212-570-3828), or email access@metmuseum.org.
